Snakeshead Fritillary, the only species of Fritillaria to grow native in England. An absolutely incredible plant, seen flowering in East Court!

Caerhays

Recently a friend & I visited Cornwall and stopped by a magnificent garden, Caerhays Castle. The bees were out, the sun was cracking the flags and it was a glorious moment to celebrate the end of winter!

Pelargonium 'Arctic Star'

A stellar Pelargonium in flower now in the Plant House.

First sightings

Last week we had the first of this year’s butterflies mooching about the place. What a happy sight! I love the butterflies, bees and all the rest of them. They are an integral part of the English garden and even the best border display would seem lacking unless it was being mobbed by our insect friends!
